Meet the Team: Kinnari Patel

14 Feb 2024

The strong personal relationships we’ve built with clients over our decades of lending are at the heart of our business. We believe in good, old-fashioned banking — no call centres or automated responses — with a trusted team of experts at the end of the phone. Here we meet some familiar and less familiar faces, who help ensure Commercial Acceptances longevity and success.

This meet our team blog is from Kinnari Patel, who talks to us about her role at CA, her favourite travel destinations, top TV show and more!

Can you give us an overview of your role?

As a Portfolio Manager, I deal with all aspects of the life cycle of a loan from writing credit papers to preparing a file for completion, whilst supporting my Line Manager in the ongoing management of the active loan book, ensuring that the portfolio of accounts are managed diligently and pro-actively and that they are always fully compliant with Credit and Risk policies and procedures.

Did you always expect to be working in the financial services?

Honestly, no. I have an undergraduate and master’s degree in law and have completed the LPC. From what started out to be a temporary job, nearly 5 ½ years later, here I am! I thoroughly enjoy working at CA and cannot think of a better place to continue my upward trajectory in my career.

What have been some of the most rewarding moments of your time at CA?

Since joining CA, I have established a track record of fostering strong relationships with customers and colleagues based on trust, respect and open communication, which has led to repeat business being sought directly from me and taking ownership of the relationship with a number of valued clients.

Getting positive feedback from colleagues unexpectedly is always a nice moment, and I was very pleased to be nominated for an Employee Recognition Award.

Where is your favourite place/s to travel?

There’s too many to choose from! Last year, I made the decision to travel more and have since been to Malta, India, Cape Verde, Punta Cana and St Lucia. I recently went to Mauritius for some winter sun!

What is one of your proudest moments?

Graduating from Nottingham Law School - twice!

What is your favourite tv show, film or book?

Nothing beats a classic like Friends!
